What is Red Apple Lipstick? Red Apple Lipstick is a brand founded by CEO Jay Adam Harper that focuses on all sorts of allergen free makeup products. They have not only lipsticks, but lip glosses lipliners, balms, lip scrubs, eye shadows, etc... The picture above has been taken from the Red Apple Lipstick website. Overall, I love Red Apple Lipstick! I love their philosophy and passion towards a "healthier" cosmetic. Most men and women don't realize just how many chemicals they expose themselves to every day. Please enjoy my review, I wish I had more ways of expressing how much I am OBSESSED with these lipsticks now.
Texture - The texture of these lipsticks feel AMAZING!!! "Like buttah' " (I'm from Boston) Smooth and silky. Gives your lips that great "glide" when you rub them together. The vitamin e in them gives you long lasting results as well.
Scent/Taste - Reminds me of when I first started getting into makeup and was really into Lip Smackers. They have a very generic fruity smell that could be a "watermelon" or a "strawberry kiwi" type of smell often found in children's chapsticks. Personally I really like it and it isn't very strong but if you are very very sensitive to smells, you may want to be look into it a little more. And although you shouldn't eat cosmetics, I tend to lick my lips. The flavor is what you would expect, a fruity wax taste.
Packaging - Not only does your order arrive dressed like a present in fun green tissue paper, and a reusable canvas type drawstring bag, but the tubes rock too. The tubes are a round solid semi-matte black plastic. "Red Apple Lipstick" is embossed in "shiny clear" on the side of the cap, and the RAL logo of an apple with lips is embossed the same way on the top of the cap. The base of the lipstick has ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TEXTURE! This was honestly one of my favorite aspects of these lipsticks. They look so edgy and expensive. They texture is just a simple dot pattern, but it makes holding these lipsticks so easy. (Even when you have slippery face primer fingers...) The tube itself is a shiny silver finished plastic. My only downfall about this was that it gets fingerprinty easily. Twisting up and down the lipstick is extremely smooth and sturdy feeling. (You know how some lipsticks twist themselves back down when you go to apply it? NOT HAPPENING HERE) Pulling the cap on and off has a great and satisfying "click" noise as well. (It is the little things that really get me excited.)
Customer Service - I can not even express how friendly, generous and just down right goodness the whole Red Apple staff possesses. Have a question? They will probly get back to you within 20 minutes lol. Somehow they are all magically around to help out. They also all have a great passion for what they do. It really shows and makes me feel that much better about using their products.
THEY OFFER GREAT DISCOUNTS - Red Apple Lipstick has both a VIP Membership, as well as a buy back program. I recommend taking advantage of one of these (or both). Everyone is trying to pinch pennies these days, but RAL makes it easy to still get your cosmetics fix. Buy Back Program - http://www.redapplelipstick.com/lip-stick-exchange.html VIP - https://www.facebook.com/RedAppleLipstick/app_285461331498329?ref=ts Berry Blast Berry Blast (SP4) sells for $23.50. It is part of the Summer Passion collection. This rosey redish berry color has some copperry shimmers in it. Can be a subtle "lips but better" color or be layered on itself for a more sultry smooch.
Armour Beauty is the brainchild of rocker/model and new mommy Theo Kogan. As the singer for bands including the legendary all-female Lunachicks and Theo And The Skyscrapers, Theo is known for her over-the-top makeup styles. She has modeled for Calvin Klein, Burberry and Kenneth Cole (to name a few) and has acted in film, television and continues to perform in avant-garde theater all over the world. A lip gloss that would stay on during a performance was something Theo craved and so she created what she considers the missing piece in the beauty industry. Armour Beauty melds high-end fashion with rock-n-roll attitude and is a favorite of Rachel Zoe, Janie Bryant, Karen O, Eva Mendes, Lady Ga Ga, Fergie, Kim Gordon and many more. Armour’s moisturizing formula is long wearing, cruelty free and environmentally friendly, with a beautiful range of colors. Theo is so inspired by music and classic pop culture that she named the glosses after some of her favorite songs, clubs and legendary icons. Swatch of After Hours, Barracuda & Ann-Margret Alright gals, I have found a new favorite lipgloss! Seriously, intense pigmentation and long wear without tons of stickiness! I have three of Armour Beauty's lip glosses in the colors After Hours, Barracuda and Ann-Margret! I didn't know what to expect when these arrived, but as soon as I pulled the applicator (pictured below) out of the container I got really excited because I could tell these weren't any flimsy sheer glosses, these were PACKED with pigmentation. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to put the products exactly where you want and doesn't take to much out of the tube and makes a mess. I have been wearing these to work and when I go out and this formula has tons of ingredients that make sure your lips don't dry out. They all have a base of Shea Butter, Avocado, Mango, Olive Butters and oils, Grape Seed Oil and Vitamin E! Which is why I don't think these are stick and tacky feeling. Swatches on my lips: Looooook at how amazing the intense color payoff is! Most of all I love the high shine that these give off. It looks like I put lipstick on and put a clear shiny gloss over it! But nope, all that comes from just one of these Armour Beauty shades! I'd really love for you girls to try these out, they are very high quality and beautiful colors to choose from. Get your own for $21 and check out their Facebook to stay up to date on the latest information!
Recently I had the chance to try out GIELLA custom blend cosmetics lipstick and lipgloss. I was in for a real treat! "GIELLA does no animal testing, and stands behind its products as the finest quality available in the industry. Our products are all non-comedo genic (non-pore clogging), fragrance free, and allergy free." They have been seen in the high fashion and beauty magazine such as Glamour and Nylon and also worn by many celebrities! I got to try two colors of their lipsticks and a gloss. Now before I even begin, they have 70, yes seven zero, shades of lipstick to choose from! 13 are shimmers 10 aromatherapy scents, 4 moisture/matte/antioxidant adds and 3 levels of coverage! They are also 99% pure natural ingredients! What more can a gal ask for besides help picking a color!! Well, you could also use the menu on the right of the site to create your OWN custom blended lipstick! Ahhhh I'm in love. They also match discontinued lipstick:www.giella.com/discontinued. In the slideshow above, I show you each lipstick and the lipgloss swatted on my hand and then on my lips. The lipsticks are heaven. They go on nice and creamy and have a matte finish. I have to say I'm never usually this pleased with neutral matte lipsticks! The color Judy has some kind of amazing coconutty smell to it. I was taken by surprise when I put it on, because I did not expect a scent at all. It's a definite bonus! If your looking for a soft non sticky lipgloss then you should take a peek at their lipgloss collection. 72 colors, 13 shimmers, 10 aromatherapy scents, adds of soy butter, vit E or matte, tube or wand: get artistic and create your own custom blend lip gloss. Use the menus and guides to the lower right. Our lip gloss base is paraben free, silky smooth and so easy to apply. I could create hundreds of colors! I wish there was a store near me where I could play all day! The one I have is in the color Bubbles and is a mauve pink with teeny tiny particles of gold. When applied to my lips it goes on very sheer but can see the hints of gold. Very pretty to wear with anything or even over one of these lipsticks! Lipstick and Lipgloss is $28 eachCheck our their Facebook for daily updates and info!
Kara & Camie are the owners of Junkie Cosmetics and have loved makeup since they were much younger! Kara went on to work for Lorac Cosmetics and the now defunct Tony & Tina Cosmetics, as a freelance make-up artist and sales rep around various Nordstrom and Sephora locations in Arizona and California. With Kara's business experience and Camie's marketing ways and creativity in two weeks they had started their journey which had created Junkie Cosmetics and they started with this beautiful collection of lipgloss! They are currently working on several additional products, including eye shadow, lipstick and blush! These come in a .2 fl. oz. container and has a lip brush applicator. When trying to decide which colors to get it was difficult. They had 11 shades to pick from and they were all so different! I picked the 2 that I thought I would love and that I didn't have anything similar to. So the two I got were in Heartbreaker and Vixen!
Junkie Cosmetics Lipgloss Applicator Heartbreaker Pictured here is "Heartbreaker". A translucent gloss infused with multi-colored sparkles. Your lips will twinkle! | Swatch of "Heartbreaker" on my lips! | The first color I tested out was " Heartbreaker". A sparkly clear gloss that has lots of multi-colored sparkles with in. As they described it: Your lips will twinkle! When I opened the package for this one I was so excited at how pretty and girly it was! Also immediately thought of wearing this alone would be so pretty but then I also was thinking about throwing this gloss over some plain matte lipsticks to add some glitz and glam! Vixen Pictured here is Vixen. A medium plum shade with subtle golden shimmer. | Swatch of "Vixen" on my lips! | The second color I got was in " Vixen". I picked this color because I don't own a color lipgloss quite like this nor have I seen one like it recently. Its a beautiful lighter plum color with gold shimmer which you can really see nicely in the photo above. They seem to put the perfect amount of glitter within their glosses, it's not chunky and not overbearing. This color I just can't get over! After wearing these little beauties out a few nights, I have to say I 100% would recommend these to anyone who asks about them. They are super soft on the lips and have ZERO stickiness to them. I feel like all of the colors they have would be very wearable with tons of different looks throughout the years! They just released a pretty coral colored one for summer which I am hoping to get my lips on! I do want to note not to rub your lips with a dry towel to take off "Heartbreaker" just because I did that for the photo and had glitter all over my mouth area! Haha, so just use a wet napkin and you should be good to go! I really would love for you to go check out their other colors and "Like" them on Facebook so you can be notified when they have their new products available!! Also, these two are such sweeties! $16 per lipgloss
STARFISH RED SKU #:14003
LASplash was nice enough to let me pick a few products to try out. I choose a yellow mascara, a yellow eyeliner and this gorgeous raspberry red gloss. The liner and mascara review can be seen in the eye section of our reviews. The picture above is from the LA Splash website. All pictures below were taken by me. Their swatch (above) looks more plum than the actual product in person. This was a little disappointing, but the color is still gorgeous.
This gloss is and "Intense" finish according to their website. This means that there is glitter, high shine, as well as a big impact of color.
"Bold, Vibrant and Intense! This collection was created using our innovative highly pigmented long-wearing formula. These bold colors are the ultimate must-have product for the stage, a performance or a night on the town! "
"Choose from a vast spectrum of colors and you’ll be the talk of the town every day! Apply to lips for excellent shimmer and color. Want a bolder look? Add glitter or shimmer over gloss. "
One thing I absolutely love about LA Splash is their price point. This gloss is super affordable at only $6.99 for 9 ml.

Here Starfish Red is worn very very sparingly almost as a stain. This picture is from my mascara and eyeliner review for LASplash. Here Starfish Red is worn very very sparingly almost as a stain. This picture is from my mascara and eyeliner review for LASplash. Reading the ingredients is all fine and dandy... but what do any of those words actually mean? Below (scattered through the next few pictures) I have taken the guess work out of all those scary names for you. Most of them are just scientific ways of saying things you already know. Now you can see what your putting on your face!

Applied thin. Applied thin. Applied thin. Applied thin. This gloss looks great applied very thin as a stain and looks great applied thinly. The staying power is great and the color is pretty. Applied thick, I don't care for this gloss too much. Although it looks pretty in photos, the gloss is not very practical to wear thick. Applied thick. Applied thick. When applied thick, this glosses strong points seem to be overshadowed. When thick, this gloss runs. I found it seeping all around my mouth and onto my teeth and tongue. Also, the pigmentation seems to become very uneven when applied thick. Unfortunately, the only time i saw the amazing sparkles in this gloss was when i layed it on thick. Applied thick. Applied thick. Funny face. This gloss has a "candy cherry" scent, almost like cherry licorice which i highly enjoyed, but may be too strong for many people. You can taste it when you inhale, so there is no escaping it. (Not like cherry twizzlers, but like "old fashion" licorice) Applied thick. The applicator is a slanted doe foot, and is very easy to apply. Applied thick.
Barefoot Venus was nice enough to let us pick out a few things from their website.
Barefoot Venus is a Canadian company that sells cute, vintage inspired bath and body. Everything I have tried smells heavenly and left my skin silky smooth and hydrated. The Lip Fables come in a super cute drawstring bag that matches the name and fragrance of your balm. This would be great if you were giving as a gift. The wrapping is already done for you. I chose to review one of their super cute "Lip Fables"
Lip Fables are scented lip balms in slide top tin containers. They currently have eight different scents to choose from. Honey, Red Licorice, Luscious Lemon, Bazooka, Knock out mint, Cherry crush, Gingerbread and Cotton Candy. 99-100% natural.
As you can see from the above two pictures, Lip Fables come plastic sealed so you can be sure that nobody has stuck their fingers in your balm. =) Lip Fables are only $7.50 4 grams of balm
Change your pout to a pucker...add sugar to your lemons. Each Lip Fable has their own cute label. The Luscious Lemon label consists of a cute girl with a head full of lemons and flowers. " Soothe and moisturize lips with this highly emollient lip healer. Jojoba seed oil, shea butter fruit, meadowfoam oil and grape seed oil seriously helps heal dryness and relieve roughness, so however you choose to tell the tale you say it with super-soft lips. " says the Barefoot Venus website.
Ingredients List- Glycine soja (soybean wax), Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Bees wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Eupatorium Rebaudianum Bertoni Leaf Extract (Stevia), natural and/or syntehteic fragrance oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Vit E).
Lip Fable tins easily slide open to reveal your balm. The seal is tight enough to keep all the dirt and lint that lives in your pockets out of your product. Luscious Lemons is a great balm. It has been living in my pocket, and purse for a while now. It barely looks like I've made a dent in it though. This balm isn't smooshy, its tough enough to stay a solid and not get messy, yet smooth enough to get a good amount on your finger. It doesnt melt in my pocket from my body heat either (which ive had problems with chapsticks doing) With 4 full grams of balm, you wont run out anytime soon. It leaves my lips soft and oh so slightly shiny. Will last on my lips for around 2-3 hours before reapplication is necessary.
The scent from the tin is sweet. Almost like the lemon of a lemon poppy seed muffin. When applied, you get more of a sour pinch from it. Not overpowering, but a nice refreshing juicy lemon smell.
A Rich Husband. Is there any other kind?! Pretty girl was kind enough to send me a lipstick to show off. The color I received is called Rich Husband. This picture is the picture used on their site to show you what color you are ordering. I would maybe suggest more pictures from different angles for a truer to life representation. I would say, on me... this color is a wine-ish brown toned mauve. (I know that makes no sence...) Pretty Girl's website describes it as a "Darker pinky brown cream". This lipstick is great! The color is very flattering. It goes on smooth and feels moisturizing. There is no scent or taste. It has a slight sheen to it, so there is no need or desire to layer on goopy glosses. This is a great one to keep in your purse for on the go. It will match almost everything and isn't a "style specific" color. Sleek silver and clear packaging. Cap on. Sleek silver and clear packaging. Cap off. My pictures look SO much darker than theirs. Rich Husband chilling with my Jimmy Choos Bottom label. Rich Husband. Hand swatch Half stick, half nude.

Johnny Concert is a proud member of PETA's cruelty free program and does not engage in any animal testing while also offering a wide selection of Vegan products. Above i have Famous Last Words on my top lip and Provocateur on the bottom. A full sized lipstick is $22.00. The lipsticks pictured here are just sample sizes. For the criminally explicit. Entice your object of desire in this matte light lavender .
This is the "lip print" from their site for Provocateur. Ingredients: Organic Castor Oil; Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter; Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil; Wildcrafted Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax; Organic Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil; Hydrogenated Castor Oil; Organic Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil; Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Butter; Organic Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Nut Oil; Mica; Zinc Oxide (Non-nano). *Mica pigment contains Carmine
Simple and to the point packaging for sample lipsticks. Provocateur pushed up all the way in the sample tube. Applying Provocateur. Provocateur looks great with a bare face. Provocateur would be a great lipstick for those who "concealer" their lips. (and yes i just used concealer as a verb) Sexy light colored lip color without all the unnecessary bullsh*t. Can be worn girly, or punky. Nice milky pink for pale skinned girls and guys. The smoke left her deep merlot stained lips as she whispered "Goodbye" into his ear. This is the "lip print" from their site for Famous Last Words. Ingredients: Organic Castor Oil; Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter; Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil; Wildcrafted Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax; Organic Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil; Hydrogenated Castor Oil; Organic Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil; Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Butter; Organic Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Nut Oil; Mica; Iron Oxides. (Vegan)
Applying FLW This is me applying FLW. Its a gorgeous creamy color and would be flattering on any skin tone. Also looks great with a bare face. This brick red color will become a staple in your collection Like the faux side-cut? Faux side-cut and funny faces. Perfect color to balance out some serious androgyny. Overall- I like the formula and the colors are very flattering. They have fun names and simple packaging. There is no noticeable smell, and the texture is nice. Pigmentation is fairly long lasting and lipsticks are surprisingly moisturizing.
"Pretty Girl Makeup offers high quality lipsticks, lip gloss, blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows. We also offer bath products such as bath bombs, sugar scrubs, soy candles and gift packages." Pretty Girl Makeup was kind enough to send me this lipstick to try out and share my thoughts with you if I'd like. Obviously you are reading this, so I have decided to share it with you! :) All of their lipsticks have antioxidants, vitamin E and BHT to go on smoothly and leave lips feeling creamy. I received mine in the color "Let's Go Shopping!" They describe it as a "A wonderful creamy pinky brown" which to me is very accurate. I love how on their website they include humor with their products. For example, where it says the description of " Let's Go Shopping!" and the color description, it also says, " The perfect form of exercise!" Cute little touch if you ask me! Above is a swatch on bare skin without any gloss added to it, straight from the tube. This went on so easy and feels almost like a chapstick feel on the lips. Super moisturizing and helped any chapped lips feeling I have been getting from the weather getting so cold again here. I love how shiny it is too! Not having to add a gloss on top of my lipstick (which I usually do) is great because it's saving me an extra step in the morning. The amount of shine is perfect for me. This color is nice also because it gives a healthy natural look to your lips, so it's very business work friendly! Check out their Facebook!
Okay who doesn't know about Wet n Wild? Almost everyone has! And if you haven't you are about to! They decided to send us 6 of their new "Glassy Gloss" lip gels and ask for our opinions. On their page it says "Ultra-glossy, sheer gel adds high, glassy shine with a hint of color in an oh-so-lickable fruity flavor. Enriched with vitamins, nutrients, oils, and antioxidants to moisturize while keeping lips soft and supple." GLOSSY they are and I love a nice high shine! It comes in a clear squeeze tube with screw on cap so it's easy to see which color you are reaching for and a little goes a long way with these new formulated lip gels. I was quite impressed with all of these and has to point out that the quality of their makeup has grown tremendously from a few years ago.( I have tried their new eyeshadow palettes and couldn't believe the quality for their awesome price! ) These lip gels are sooo affordable at only $2.99!! These barely have any sticky feeling to them, but just the right consistency that you know this gloss won't wear off in two minutes like some others. I wore the color in the last picture to the bar in Boston and when I got home and put photos up online, my cousin and I got compliments on how 'luscious' pinkish/red lips looked! And it looked good with my pink/purple eyeshadow I had on too! Quick tip: These over any color lipstick work wonders and can transform a boring old color into something way more interesting! The thing I really like about these colors is that they can be worn really sheer for just a little shine and sparkle or you can layer it a little and get more color payoff with the pink ones that have a little glitter look to them. The ones with out any shimmer to them I found weren't as thick as the others but they are all so wearable and fun, and can match any eye look you do. Below are some photos and swatches!
In the same order as pictures below "Glass Confusion" "Glass is in Session" "This Too Shall Glass" "Mow The Glass" "Through the Looking Glass" "3,2,1, Glass-t Off!" $2.99 for 0.4 fl. oz.Available at drugstore.com, CVS, Walmart and more! -Dianna
